Playtonic Games released a new trailer for Yooka-Laylee earlier this week, just a couple weeks ahead of E3. The trailer shows Yooka (the green lizard thing) and Laylee (the bat) in action, kicking butt and jumping around. The game is created by Playtonic Games. The team is made up of key creative members of Banjo-Kazooie.
The trailer gives the game a very Banjo-Kazooie vibe. The game is colorful, playful and an ode to classic games. Banjo-Kazooie if you don’s know is one of the biggest games from the 90’s. It came out at a time where games didn’t have to be as over the top as they are today, full of guns and action. They just had to be fun and that’s all anyone cared about. Yooka-Laylee seems to be following in those footsteps and the team at Platonic Games seem like they just want to make a game that is fun to play.
The game will even be voiced by the man behind both Banjo and Kazooie, (Chris Sutherland), giving it even more of a Banjo-Kazooie feel. Yooka-Laylee is set to release sometime during the first quarter of 2017.
