The creative minds behind beloved game Banjo-Kazooie have come together as Playtonic Games to create Yooka-Laylee, a highly anticipated 3D platformer.
With only 3 days to go on their highly successful Kickstarter for Yooka-Laylee, Playtonic Games has announced that backers now have the option to receive a DRM-free copy of the game via GOG.
Yooka-Laylee will be available on GOG at the time of release for PC, Mac, and Linux.
Backers should not worry if they have already committed to a PC, Mac, or Linux code on the Kickstarter, as Platonic Games has stated that at the time of release, backers will have the option to switch their code to a GOG version if they wish. Yooka-Laylee will also launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, and Steam.
Other updates for the Kickstarter have included an extra 200 units of the 64-bit version of the game.
The Retro-themed reward comes with a physical N64 cartridge, complete with a classic case and signed manual, and built-in 64GB flash drive. The reward also includes a digital copy of the game, a CD soundtrack, and artbook. The retro-themed reward sells out quickly, so if you would like to own one, then you should back their project soon.
There are only 3 days left in funding. Should Yooka-Laylee receive £2m at their Kickstarter’s conclusion, all backers will also receive free DLC.
