A team of enthusiastic and creative Minecraft players have been taking on the gargantuan task of completely recreating the entire map of Grand Theft Auto V!
The project began on January 10, 2016, and the most recent update video shows their progress on the main city, Los Santos.
The name of the project is simply ‘GTA 5 in Minecraft‘ and is an incredibly ambitious undertaking, with the team trying to meticulously recreate the map as accurately as possible.
As the video’s description states:
“We will be building and recreating everything from mountains to high skyscrapers and buildings. The map will be on a 1 to 1 scale and will roughly be 7500 by 7500 blocks”.
Naturally this includes the city of Los Santos as well as the countryside areas of Blaine County and all notable, well-known landmarks such as the airfield for instance. Although the undertaking has only been running for 10 days, much of the city has already been recreated in high detail.
Needless to say that this project will take a long time to fuly complete but you can follow all the progress on N11cK’s YouTube channel where the progress videos are being posted.
