Video game movies are hard to come by. Good movies based on video games are even harder to come by. We are going to have to wait a little longer on the one that holds the most hope in the near future, Assassin’s Creed.
The movie that is believed to already have their star in Michael Fassbender, has been booted out of its expected slot in August 7, 2015 in favor of putting the Fantastic Four reboot the end-of-summer position. Creed has been pushed back “indefinitely.” Production issues were also cited as a reason for the delay on the Assassin’s Creed movie.
The title will be replaced with an assassin of another sort. Deadpool was given a greenlight and a February 12, 2016 release date. Creed might be getting pushed into a development quagmire similar to the one Deadpool has faced ever since there was talk of his own movie he was one of the few entertaining parts of Wolverine: Origins.
The delay for Assassin’s Creed could mean it may never reach the screen, but we can hope that it has just been pushed back to a 2016-17 date that hasn’t been decided yet.
