Destiny 2’s Solar, Void, and Arc 3.0 updates brought tons of new build variety to the game, aging out some Exotic equipment, making others relevant again, and putting new ones on the top of the heap. One Exotic armor piece that will never go out of style is the Phoenix Cradle Exotic Titan Legs. While they’re not as immediately useful as the Loreley Splendor Helm or Heart of Inmost Light, they are and have always been a solid workhorse Exotic.
This guide will list the possible ways that you can get this set of leg armor, though none of the methods below are guaranteed to provide them. You’ll need a bit of RNG luck on your side.
Do Solo Legend or Master Lost Sectors When They Drop Legs
Note: The image is an example only.
Every day, one of the Lost Sector mini-dungeons becomes an instanced activity that you can make either Legend or Master difficulty. Should you complete it on your own, you have a chance at a specific armor piece denoted in the Lost Sector activity description.
You won’t get a new Exotic every time you complete these high-difficulty Lost Sectors, but doing them on Master has a much higher drop rate. However, they usually take significantly longer to finish than lower difficulties.
Lost Sector drops also heavily favor Exotic gear you don’t already have, so if you’re looking for your first pair of Phoenix Cradle legs, head to the Lost Sector that drops leg armor and run it as many times as it takes to get the item.
Check with Xur Every Week
Every Friday at 10:00 a.m. PST through Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. PST, Xur, Agent of the Nine, appears somewhere in the world, selling Exotic wares for Legendary Shards. He’ll always have three armor pieces and a weapon available, but the real gift here is the random Exotic you can buy at the top of his menu.
As with Legend and Master solo Lost Sectors, the purchasable Engram favors gear you don’t yet have, so buy it every week. Completing the Exotic Cipher quest from Xur gets you another chance at the Engram.
Complete Every Weekly and Powerful Challenge
You could wish upon a star and wait for an Exotic engram to drop out in the world, or you could up your chances by always completing Powerful Gear Challenges every week. Vanguard Ops, Gambit, Crucible, Raids, Dungeons, and other Powerful or Pinnacle gear drops all have a chance at providing an Exotic as their reward. It’s a low chance, but possible nonetheless.
While you won’t be guaranteed the Phoenix Cradle legs using the tips outlined here, they make the process faster and more economical. The Lost Sector farm is especially effective if you can stand to not always get exactly what you want.
