You don’t like Digimon? Well “Bah!” to you, buddy. Season 1 of the original series and Tamers were awesome. So was the original Digimon World game on the PlayStation. You know, the one where you had to raise Digimon and usually one misstep in training got you a Numemon.
This was understandably disappointing.
Digimon World Re:Digitize is basically the same type of game, but has been a Japan-only release since 2012. One group of dedicated fan translators have made the Japan-only part moot: the English patch (with full translation) is now up for download and available to play!
In order to use the patch, you need either a physical copy of the game or one acquired by more “grey” methods and a PSP or PSP emulator. From there, you just patch it up and play.
You can check out how to patch the game on the translation’s progress blog. The group has also released a patch for the patch with typo and bug fixes, and will release the Digimon World Re:Digitize DLC codes each week – just as they were released in Japan after the game’s launch.
If you liked Digimon when you were younger or even now, you owe it to yourself to give Digimon World Re:Digitize a shot now that it has a full translation.
