As mentioned in the last trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, new information for the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 3 would be coming out in winter 2016. Winter has come and gone with no new information in sight…
What We Have So Far…
The most that was revealed was a screenshot of Sora standing in front of Yen-Sid’s tower standing in the same pose as Cloud from Final Fantasy VII on the anniversary for the Final Fantasy series and a screenshot of Sora fighting a mini-boss heartless in a new drive form.
Although these new screenshots are awesome, they don’t come attached with any news of the next installment of the main series. Not long after these images had been leaked and then released officially in HD, we had heard from Nomura sensei himself that 2017 will have “non-stop news” for Kingdom Hearts 3.
Even the rumors of news coming in spring of 2017 had us all eager to see what mind-blowing images, info or trailers Square Enix had in store for us and yet nothing. In a recent interview with Famitsu, Nomura sensei had said that the timing for new KH 3 info is unknown at this point. This is a huge blow to the fan base, but fret not my fellow Keyblade wielders as we have a saving grace coming up in the form of E3.
Will E3 Save Us?
With E3 2017 coming up in just over 2 months, there is still a bit of hope that some news or even a new trailer for KH 3 will be revealed during the expo. The lack of info could just be a way to cover up a huge reveal that will surely get everyone hyped beyond belief. My money is on E3 being the outlet for any KH news that can come out.
It is possible that they can wait for D23 later this year but that’s to far off and would surely be the cause of the fan base to lose hope on anything new. E3 is the safe bet here and would cause the biggest positive reaction to the fan base. Here’s to E3 saving us from further Kingdom Hearts limbo.
Stay tuned to E3 this June and for more Kingdom Hearts news and information, stay tuned to GameSkinny!
