Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios promise “striking graphics” and has revealed a launch trailer. You can watch the trailer below.

This is not the first time NetherRealm Studios has created a mobile version of a fighting franchise. Injustice: Gods Among Us was released in April 2013 and achieved outstanding success with over 43 million downloads.

Warner Bros. mobile executive Greg Ballard is confident the mobile version of Mortal Kombat X will have great success after its release. He said:

“The team has outdone themselves with its latest offering, creating an authentic Mortal Kombat mobile experience from the ground up, bringing players all the signature, over-the-top fighting gameplay mechanics that are hallmarks of the franchise and delivering on WBIE’s quality games-as-a-service promise,”

Players can unlock Mortal Kombat X skins in the mobile game and transfer them to the full game through WB Play. These skins include Jax’s farmer skin and Johnny Cage’s Mime.

My Opinion

Now, I play Injustice: Gods Among Us and I will have to be honest, it is really fun to play. It also takes a long time to collect good character, which makes the game frustrating at times. The graphics are smooth, the combat is amazing and it does require strategy (which I didn’t expect). My expectations of Mortal Kombat X are much higher than when I first started Injustice. I hope it won’t be too much of a grind like Injustice can be, and I hope for more awesome ‘K’ombat.
