So you finally have your PlayStation 4. It’s in your home, all hooked-up and ready to go. You’ve gone through all the necessary setup steps, and now you finally get to play. You’ve got Battlefield 4 ready to go. It’s incredibly exciting, and you’re twitching with anticipation as you reach out to press the button and turn it on.
But wait. What’s happening? There’s a flashing red light now. And you’re just thinking “Oh, god. It’s the red line of death.” You wait all this time for your new console, and this happens? You heard about Sony’s predicted number of defective PS4 consoles, and all you can think is “Why me?”
I’ve got some good news for you. The flashing red light does not mean that your console is dead or dying. All it means is that your PlayStation 4 is overheating. Just turn off the console and leave it alone for a while to cool off. Once the console has cooled off, it should work fine.
If you keep having problems with this red light, consult the manual. If all else fails, you can always call 1-800-345-SONY for more support.
