Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Crashing on PS5, Xbox — Potential Fixes

Here are some potential fixes for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor crashing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms.

If you’re playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on PS5 or Xbox Series platforms at launch, there’s a chance you’ve experienced the game crashing at literally any point. While I (thankfully) haven’t had many problems while playing, others have reported Jedi Survivor just cutting off without warning during cutscenes, dialog, and combat. Here are some potential fixes for the game crashing on PS5 and Xbox until there’s an official patch.

How to (Potentially) Fix Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Crashing on PS5 and Xbox

As with my advice for PC players running into crashes while playing Jedi Survivor, there’s no guarantee any of the suggestions below will fix the problem. These types of errors are typically hard to pin down, and what works for one person may not work for you.

However, it’s well worth trying these methods if you keep running into the issue. Here, we’ll go over them from easiest to “most difficult.”

  • Put the game in Performance Mode
  • Turn off Motion Blur.
  • Turn off VRR (Variable Refresh Rate).
  • Make sure you’ve installed the latest patch.
  • Restore Licenses.
  • Restart your System.
  • Update your System Software.
  • Clear your System Cache.
  • Fully delete and reinstall Jedi Survivor (gross).
  • Rebuild your system database (double gross).

Through some research, it seems like putting the game in Performance Mode and disabling some of the graphics settings like Motion Blur/Film Grain/etc. have worked for a good number of players so far. That’s the best place to start.

It’s also likely that Jedi Survivor has automatically updated to the latest patch in the background, but there are times when that’s not the case. For instance, I’ve found that the PS5 won’t always download and install updates or patches automatically, and I’ve had to force updates from time to time.

It’s also possible that Jedi Survivor was trying to download the latest update while you were playing, causing the system to crash. Double-check your downloads to see if there’s a download in progress, and let it finish if so.

Clearing your system cache is another good troubleshooting process since some files can become corrupted and cause problems. This can happen naturally over time, and manually flushing the cache can improve performance on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Hopefully, one of the above methods helped you fix Jedi Survivor crashing on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. We’ll do some more digging and update this article with any additional information and tips as we find them. Further, EA is aware of the problems and is actively working to fix them, so keep an eye out for more patches. For more, check out our other Jedi Survivor guides
