As a kid, when I received my first Play-Station Portable (PSP), I wanted the game known as Eragon. I enjoyed the book a lot anyway so, what the heck? After about 2 hours of playing this game, I was sick of it. The gameplay puts you into a world with a hard-to-control dragon, aka Eragon, and extremely small enemies that makes this game feel like work!
Game Description
Based on the best-selling novel and feature film, this epic fantasy-adventure centers on a young farm boy named Eragon. His destiny is revealed with the help of a dragon, Saphira. Offering a completely different gaming experience from the console game, Eragon and Saphira take flight in this aerial combat game, featuring four person multiplayer in seven different arenas with 12 unlockable arena game types for PSP gamers. An extensive single player story mode allows gamers to experience the epic Eragon saga from the dragon’s perspective.
Game Feel
Aside from the hard-to-control dragon and the extremely small enemies, you have tasks that just make you go crazy. The tasks are basically just busy work, as a teacher would give to his/her students when he/she is feeling lazy. Upon completing a task your reward is no better than a thumbs up from a father that has a disorder in which his thumb has to constantly stay up.
Game look
The look of the game is not appealing, aside from the fact it is on PSP. The world structure feels like the creator was puking on the computer, the computer spazzed out, and started putting out jammed input commands. The models weren’t any better. I wanted to throw my PSP out of the window, and punch someone, for how badly the models were structured (Luckily I didn’t!).
Lasting Appeal
Now, I have to say, because of the frustratingly stupid look and hard-to-control dragon, it made me strive to beat the game. The game would not last long enough to get over a weekend, but it is good enough to ignore your yelling parents, talking about how inattentive you are.
ALTOGETHER NOW!
This has been deemed to be the worst game I’ve ever played because of the: violence-inducing game look, insanity-inducing game feel, and wall-punching hard-to-control dragons. I would give this a 3/10 solely because it did last the 2 hours it took me to get to my house, and that’s, more or less, what I bought it for.
Unfortunately, because of my unwillingness to want to see that game boot up again, I did not experience the multiplayer. But from looking further into it, I didn’t miss anything.
I wouldn’t even rent this game! I would probably take it from a friend and chuck it at some annoying kids in my drive-way.
