Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine, may just be indie game of the year

Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine in short review, just admit it, you're going to buy this game.
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

If you’ve ever wondered what it might be like to sneak around unsuspecting guards, disable an alarm system, disappear in a cloud of smoke, or own a monkey who steals money for you- Then you need to drop what you are doing, and go buy Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine on Steam for PC.

Having played this game for a review, at this point in time I can honesty say this is a game I will absolutely still be playing months from now.  It’s replay value both in campaign and co-op modes (with up to 4 players), is at this point not even quantifiable to me.  The gameplay is so intuitive and effortless, you may just find yourself playing with the lights out, with a stocking cap on your head and a Maglite on your belt.

Pocketwatch Games brought a whole new perspective to the heist adventure, with a top down view of your target blueprint, combined with lighting only in areas where your character can see in first person.  In short: Genius.

Making matches online with up to four players is immersive and frankly, easy.  With just enough freedom, and just enough opportunity to play as a free-for-all and rendezvous when necessary, or maintain constant communication through chat channels for a tactical advantage.  Combining overall run through speed with a ratio of coins grabbed to coins forgotten, each level tallys a timed score.  That score is then placed within not only a daily but overall ranking system, with a completely separate ranking system for the multiplayer attempts. Amusing and challenging achievements and trophies, as well as the natural drive of competition, will definitely keep you coming back to this title. (That is if the unreasonably perfect soundtrack and amazing graphics don’t have you addictively logging in right from day 1)

I encountered virtually no issues with this game, but for a comprehensive review, score and overview check out the full article on IndieCombo.com.
