In an interview with Fox News, current Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime, says that Nintendo is planning for a big display at the upcoming E3 expo.
While the companies’ E3 showcase is likely focusing on the Nintendo Switch, there is also going to be news for the Nintendo 3DS. This news is compounded by this years E3 being the first time the public is allowed onto the show floor, so Nintendo will be doing something with that — what form that will take, we don’t know as of yet. The announcements of The Legend of Zelda for Wii U along with the first live game play of Pokémon Sun and Moon also showed at E3, so expect something similar in size. For those planning on seeing the usual Digital Event, plan to see something new and more exciting in the age of the Switch. Hopefully this E3 will answer further outlying questions such as the shortage of Nintendo Switches.
Reggie Fils-Aime elaborated on this saying:
“E3 is always a big time for Nintendo. We look at each E3 as a unique opportunity to tell our story. And we’re gonna have a big E3 this year. We’re going to be showcasing a variety of games. We will have experiences for… consumers [who] will be able to attend the show for the very first time. So I’m not gonna tell you all of the various games and all of our little secrets for E3, but I can tell you that E3 is going to be a major opportunity for us to showcase not only Nintendo Switch, but also content coming to Nintendo 3DS.”
E3 itself takes place from Tuesday June 13, 2017 to June 15 while Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3! will only be on the last two days.
