Eiyuden Chronicle Kickstarter Campaign Goes Live, Promises Realistic Goals

The Eiyuden Chronicle Kickstarter campaign is live now, promising reasonable rewards and a game made for the fans.

Following last week’s surprise reveal of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, developer Rabbit & Bear Studios has launched the Eiyuden Chronicle Kickstarter campaign.

The Eiyuden Chronicle Kickstarter page goes over the plot and character details from last week’s announcement and contains some additional video clips and screenshots. These highlight Eiyuden Chronicles‘ unique style, sitting somewhere between modern 3D graphics and Octopath Traveler‘s 2D-HD style.

As the Kickstarter info page details, that style is indicative of Rabbit & Bear’s design philosophy. The studio wants to create a game hearkening back to the golden days of JRPGs while including modern elements to make the game both something the developers and fans want. To that end, Rabbit & Bear is encouraging plenty of fan feedback between now and Eiyuden Chronicle‘s anticipated 2022 launch date.

Rabbit & Bear is also making this a transparent campaign. They purposely haven’t included many stretch goals, learning, as they say, from previous mistakes similar campaigns made — including Koji Igarashi’s for Bloodstained campaign.

There’s a BGM sample from composer Motoi Sakuraba as well

Existing goals include the base $500,000 funding goal and a $1 million goal for getting Eiyuden Chronicle on other consoles.

What consoles it might appear on is a bit more ambiguous. The team said they want it on as many systems as possible, but recognize the development landscape between now and 2022 will change significantly thanks to next-gen consoles. If the goal is reached, though, Rabbit & Bear promises to develop an Eiyuden Chronicle Switch port, whether it’s for the existing Switch or a new Nintendo console.

There are plenty of backer tiers — including one that lets you get your own cat in the game — but Rabbit & Bear said they’ve learned from previous campaigns that offered too much. Rather than just promising the moon, the studio has taken steps and secured partnerships to ensure they can meet demand and keep up with it, should demand exceed expectations.

Half the base funding goal has already been met in less than an hour since the Eiyuden Chronicle Kickstarter opened.

You can check out the Eiyuden Chronicle Kickstarter campaign over on, well… Kickstarter. We’ll be keeping up with it in the coming weeks, so stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Eiyuden Chronicle news as it develops.
