How to Win More Matches in Spectre Divide

In Spectre Divide, planting the bomb and killing the enemy team may seem easy, but unlike games like Call of Duty, players must consider a few tips to secure more wins in their matches.

Pay Attention to Your Audio

In Spectre Divide, players must pay attention to the game’s audio. Running to a bomb site or wasting your abilities while going to a different site will give the enemy team enough information to switch characters or set up an ambush.

Use your walk key anytime you think there’s an enemy close, as getting the jump on a player might be what you need to finish the enemy team.

Customize Your Keybindings

While playing Spectre Divide, I kept hitting the wrong key while trying to crouch. A mistake like this will get you killed in the middle of a fight, as activating an ability or switching to a different weapon will give enemies plenty of time to kill you, so spend some time on the settings screen and tune everything to your liking.

Having the right setup will make the difference between clutching and losing a match, so don’t underestimate how important having your custom keybindings is.

Don’t Be Scared to Aim Down Sights

In games like Valorant, aiming down sights is not a good idea, but in Spectre Divide, it is the opposite. Aiming down sights gives players a small zoom on most weapons, helping them land accurate shots at a distance.

Aiming down sights felt weird as I went into the game with the idea that Spectre Divide was a Valorant clone, but after a few matches, that idea got swept away quickly. Don’t be afraid of aiming down sights whenever you want, as hitting shots at longer distances is critical.

Don’t Peak Twice From The Same Angle

Peaking from the same angle twice will be your demise in a game like Spectre Divide. Most players will aim at the last place they saw you, so peaking from the same spot twice will put you at a disadvantage. Go to a different spot and keep the enemy guessing.

Surprising your enemy from a different spot may earn you the kill to plant the bomb and win the match.

Be Careful Where You Place Your Other Character

Placing your character in the wrong spot will cost you lots of rounds. Pick a different spot in every round and keep them hiding in a corner or high place. Tons of players put their second character in an open space, wasting any chance for a comeback later in the round.

There are plenty of safe places to put your second character, so consider that before starting a round.

Plan Your Route

Spectre Divide maps are big and have plenty of places to hide and attack the enemy team. If you do not plan a route to attack or defend a bomb site, you will waste time and may leave your team open for an ambush.

Use Your Characters as Bait When Needed

Some players are afraid to rush into a site after they get killed, but doing that can be the key to taking a bomb site and securing a win. Most players do not expect somebody to push the same spot after dying, so that will throw them off.

If you do enough damage to an enemy, they won’t engage you, so there’s a good chance they will run away, afraid for their lives.

Move Faster With Your Knife

Like Valorant and Counter-Strike 2, players can move faster when using a knife. Use that to your advantage when rotating to a different site or when moving silently behind some enemies.

Walking with your knife out is faster than with other weapons, so that will get you quicker through the map.

Take Advantage Of Your Loadout

In Spectre Divide, you buy weapons for both of your characters. The game offers you combos featuring assault rifles, SMGs, shotguns, and much more. Some combos offer you two SMGs, while others give you an assault rifle with an LMG.

Plan your loadout before starting a match, giving you a better idea of what routes to take and where to place your other character.

Use What You Have At Your Disposal

Don’t be afraid to pick up a weapon from the floor if you think it’s a better option. A shotgun will serve you better than a sniper rifle at close range so consider that if you see an enemy’s weapon close to you when attacking or defending a site.
