All Altar of Potions Effects in Death Must Die

Alter of Potions are like fun cocktails to try in Death Must Die.

Altar of Potions is one of the many locations in Death Must Die that you can use to bolster your character’s statistics. It offers four vaguely described effects. I’ve tested all four, so here is a chart of what each Altar of Potions effect in Death Must Die does.

Every Effect of Altar of Potions in Death Must Die

These are the four different effects that are offered to you by the Altar of Potions:

  • Drink the Potion simmering in Ember Fire.
  • Drink the Potion that sinks your gaze in an ominous Cerulean Ocean.
  • Drink the Potion filled with a Golden Liquid.
  • Drink the Potion drenched in a mist of Cosmic Nebulae.

You will notice that the keywords (Ember Fire, Cerulean Ocean, Golden Liquid, and Cosmic Nebulae) are colored in red, blue, gold, and purple, respectively, which provides a hint of what exactly they are improving on your character.

  • Ember Fire gives you improvements to your Attack abilities (such as damage, for example).
  • Cerulean Ocean gives you improvements to your Cast abilities (damage percentage increase, for example).
  • Golden Liquid gives you improvements to your Power abilities (such as crit, for example).
  • Cosmic Nebulae gives you improvements to your Summon abilities (such as the amount of Summons).

Due to the randomness of these effects regarding the stat they are improving and the amount by which they do so, your best bet is to open your character sheet, see the list of bonuses before approaching the Altar of Potions, and then check it again after choosing your potion. If you are having doubts about which potion to choose, you should choose the one that is related to the ability type your character mostly uses in the current run. Basic-attack-based characters will go for an Attack boost. Summoner will go for the Summon boost, etc.
