All Ankylosaurus Locations in Ark Survival Ascended

Anky is a solid addition to your dino squad. Here's where to find one in Ark Survival Ascended.

If you’re constantly running out of metal for your base and weapons, you may want to find a dinosaur to gather some for you. Great for metal collecting, this is where to find an Ankylosaurus in Ark Survival Ascended.

Where to Find Ankylosaurus Spawn Locations in Ark Survival Ascended and Why

Anky is a herbivore with a spiked exterior. Think of a Stegosaurus, only with sharper points and a club tail. There are plenty of reasons to search for this docile dino.

It won’t attack you as long as you’re calm in its space. If provoked, it will attack with its tail and try to bite you. When killed, it drops Hide, Raw Meat, and Keratin.

It can be tamed and ridden, as well as bred. Its eggs are used to make Kibble, but they can be hatched to begin an Ankylosaurus family.

You’ll need to knock it out to tame it, though it’s not immune to Torpor. Once unconscious, Regular Kibble will be the best way to earn its trust.

Due to its high health and knockback attack, it’s a good ASA dino to take into caves or to leave to defend your base. Ark Ankylosaurs have metal weight reduction and can swim relatively well, so sending one out to gather resources is a good idea.

Common Ankylosaurus Spawn Areas

  • Between Grand Hills and Winter’s Mouth.
  • Between Northern Shores and Winter’s Mouth.
  • Far’s Peak.
  • Frozen Tooth.
  • Grand Hills.
  • Herbivore Island.
  • The Red Peak.

Though it can be difficult to reach, Herbivore Island to the southeast is probably your best bet for finding Anky spawns. Otherwise, I’ve had success around The Red Peak region of the map.

While there are a handful of specific locations where Ark Ankylosaurs commonly appear, they also spawn throughout three northern areas of the Island.

  • Frozen Fang.
  • Whitesky Peak.
  • Winter’s Mouth.

Exploring these cold regions should lead to an encounter with the spiked herbivore. If you can survive the other dinos, this is where I would head first to hunt for one.

Console Commands to Spawn Ankylosaurus

If you’re short on time, have explored all the snow regions, or just want to tame a high-level Anky, you can use console commands.

To spawn any old Anky without regard to level, enter Summon Ankylo_Character_BP_C. If you want a max level one to appear o r spawn in the distance, use this command: cheat SpawnDino “Blueprint’/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Ankylo/Ankylo_Character_BP.Ankylo_Character_BP'” [spawnDistance] [spawn-Y-offset] [Z-offset] [dinolevel].

Those are all the locations that Ankylosaurus spawns in Ark Survival Ascended. Whether you need to find one for the Keratin, tame it as a cave mount, or want to send it scavenging for metal, this dino is a valuable asset to your tribe.
