Pine Heights is most likely the second zone you’ll explore in Lightyear Frontier. The more you run around, the more likely you are to stumble upon its artifacts. However, they are slightly hidden, and it’s basically a mini hidden object game. I’ll help you find these Artifacts in Pine Heights.
How to Find Strange Rocks for Artifacts in Pine Heights in Lightyear Frontier
The area you’ll find Artifacts in Pine Heights is near the western border of the zone. You will notice weird, out-of-place purple glowing lines on the walls. Here’s a screenshot of the map for your convenience:
You will see some of the Artifacts in plain sight, while others are somewhat hidden. Remember to check for cave entrances when looking for Artifacts in these “purple-colored areas,” because if there’s a cave somewhere around, a stone or two is probably inside from my experience. Also, all of the Artifacts (Strange Rocks) are close to the purple-colored area, so you won’t need to stray too far to find them all.
Below, I’ve included screenshots of the Artifacts in Pine Heights in Lightyear Frontier.
There are two important locations to check as soon as you approach the area. The left arrow points to a small room where you should go in by foot (it took me a minute to free my Mech from trying to go in there, so don’t put yourself through this), and the right arrow points to the cave entrance (where you must also go in by foot).
There are nine artifacts to pick up in Pine Heights region. In different regions, this amount will vary.
In the cave (and outside the cave as well), you will find “Strange Rocks” that have a strong, violet glow. You need to approach them and inspect them. This is done by hitting them with a pickaxe two times and then pressing “E” when you’re looking at them directly (a tooltip will appear). If you’re having trouble spotting them, they emit a chiming tune, so you can always turn off the music in the game settings and try to “hear” these rocks through obstacles. Head into the cave and scan it top from bottom, since it’s not a big cave at all:
After getting out of the cave, turn right while you’re outside of the Mech and enter the outside room I was talking about. Don’t ask how I got my Mech in there, and especially don’t ask how I got it out.
You will commonly see the Artifact pieces perched in high places, so I advise you to look around and use the Third-Person option while you’re in your Mech, as it elevates your camera angle drastically and gives you a “bird’s eye view” on the location.
Another example of a highly placed artifact is below:
There are, of course, ones hidden low, under the roots of a tree:
What Do You Get for Finding All Artifacts in Pine Heights?
After you reveal all of the Artifacts, you will get the “Strange Table” recipe (blueprint) as a reward. Due to the lack of items necessary for this craft, I currently do not know what this table does (or if it does anything at all), but as soon as I learn anything, I’ll update this guide.
If you’re looking for more guides for Lightyear Frontier, I suggest you check out the locations of all Pine Heights Noxious Slimes, as well as many more at our game hub.
