There are tons of blessings in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, almost all of them incredibly powerful or at least unique. The Blessing of Marika is one of the most potent. You can only use it once, but its effect can be the difference between winning a boss fight and getting sent back to Grace. Here’s how to find it and what it does.
Where to Find All Blessings of Marika in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
There are a grand total of four Blessings of Marika available per new game cycle in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, and there’s a good reason for their scarcity. If you played any of the previous Dark Souls titles, you’ll likely know of the infamous Divine Blessing, a one-use item that instantly restores all your health. Well, those are Blessings of Markia in Elden Ring, but now they also remove all status ailments. They’re not quite as powerful as they used to be, as the Raw Meat Dumpling item exists for fast mega heals, but those also poison you when consumed. Blessings do not.
Gravesite Plain Blessing of Marika in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
You can find your first Blessing of Marika almost as soon as you enter the Realm of Shadow. From the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace, rather than going north toward the castle, head southeast along the road. Follow the path south, then north when you reach the cliff’s edge, and you’ll eventually reach the Church of Consolation.
After collecting the Scadutree Fragment there, head into a small cave to the northwest. There should be a soldier holding a bright red torch there. The Blessing lies among a group of soldier corpses.
Scadu Altus Blessing of Marika Location in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
You won’t find the second Blessing of Markia until you reach the Scadutree Altus to the northwest after you make it through Castle Ensis and Rellana, Twin Moon Knight. From the Highroad Cross Site of Grace just outside the castle, head southeast along the road leading toward the ruins on your left and eventually through a cave. You’ll reach the Fort of Reprimand once you’re out of the cave.
You’ll need to make your way around the east side of the fort to the cliff’s edge to find the second Blessing of Marika.
There are plenty of goodies to find inside the Fort as well, so take the 15 or so minutes you need to clear it out while you’re there. You won’t be able to make your way much farther south from the Fort as it quickly goes from solid ground to a very, very long drop. Oh, and yes, the fall will kill you. This is not one of those “take the plunge, you won’t die” moments.
Hinterland Blessings of Marika Location in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
The final two Blessings of Marika are technically in the same place: the Hinterland, which you can only access via the Shadow Keep Back Gate statue of Marika, provided you have the O Mother gesture.
You’ll find O Mother in the field north of Bonny Village, which you can only reach by taking a narrow path in the east of Moorth Ruins down into the caves, below the ground, and east to the ladder leading to the village.
Once you have O Mother, you need to use the Church District entrance to the Shadow Keep and travel through the rafters to reach the set of elevators leading down to the back gate. There, you can use O Mother in front of the headless statue of Marika to open the path to the Hinterland.
Unfortunately, the blessings you’re looking for aren’t items you can find on the ground. Instead, there are two Tree Sentinel bosses patrolling the area west of the Hinterland bridge: one with a torch and one with a halberd.
You can fight them individually by carefully spacing each encounter to keep them separate. The torch one is much easier to handle than the halberd, in my experience, but defeat them however you please. Each dead Hinterland Tree Sentinel drops a single Blessing of Marika, which will go straight into your inventory along with their awarded runes.
Those are the only Blessings of Marika in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. Now, you can check out our other guides in our dedicated Elden Ring guides hub, including the best invasion levels.
