If you feed the maximum amount of animals needed in the zone (usually it’s three) OR deposit food in the animal nest the maximum amount of times the next day, the resource yield in the entire zone will significantly increase. This will be visible in the morning, at the start of the day, in the cutscene.

What is the Paint Gun Used for in Lightyear Frontier
You know that “gun” you get with your pickaxe at the start of the game, and you just can’t figure out what it’s used for? It’s the paint gun, and you can use it to paint your Mech. The paint gun has a primary and secondary mode, which you toggle between with your right mouse button. This mode allows you to carefully paint certain sections of your Mech without going “over the line.” When you load up paint in your inventory and point your paint gun at your Mech, you’ll highlight the part that will get painted if you press the left mouse button.
