Amnesia: The Bunker won’t make its original release window. Announced in late 2022 for PC, PS4, and Xbox platforms, the latest installment in the Frictional Games horror franchise will instead launch roughly two months later than originally planned, on May 16, 2023.
The team released a statement on Twitter regarding the delay in the game’s expected release window, saying that they want to provide the best player experience while keeping their team members healthy. The tweet mentions that health-related issues have impacted the small team of 25 between the original announcement and the new release date.
Hey everyone, Amnesia: The Bunker has been delayed and will be released on May 16, 2023.
The team here at Frictional has had a tough winter with a slew of illnesses that has affected the development [of the game]. We are a small team and things like this heavily impacts (sic) production.
It is important to us to do the game justice, and in light of these halts in production, we don’t wish to rush the end product. The team is working hard to make The Bunker the best it can be, and a few more weeks will make the necessary difference.
Amnesia: The Bunker will be available on Steam Epic Game Store, GOG, PlayStation, and Xbox on May 16, 2023.

Though the delay means waiting a little longer to play Amnesia: The Bunker, it’s well worth it for Frictional to take care of its team members. For more about how The Bunker looks to shake up the series’ formula (and adds an actual weapon to the mix), here’s what we know from the original announcement.
