Ark: Survival Ascended offers a lush new world full of dinos, or so we thought until an issue with the dinos not spawning emerged for many players. If you’re having a similar issue, then follow our guide on how to fix dinos not spawning in the game.
How to Fix Dinos Not Spawning in Ark: Survival Ascended
Use Console Commands to Respawn Dinos
Console commands will save the day when it comes to spawning dinos in your world that is devoid of them. If you’re not sure how to activate the console commands, then follow our guide by following the link. Once you activate the console commands in the “Advanced Settings” menu, press the “~” (tilde) key on your keyboard and enter the following command:
- cheat DestroyWildDinos
This console command will wipe all the wild dino settings and force the game to respawn them. It’s a crude method, but it works, so be sure to try it out. And don’t worry, this command won’t kill your tamed dinos.
Adjust Launch Options
If you’re a purist and don’t want to use console commands for obvious cheating, then I recommend adjusting your launch options on Steam. It does a similar trick, but instead of wiping and respawning dinos, it simply asks the game not to despawn dinos ever. Here’s how you can do it:
- Start Steam app.
- Go to your game library.
- Right-click on Ark: Survival Ascended.
- Select “Properties” option.
- Go to “Launch Options” tab.
- Enter the following line in the launch field: -preventhibernation
Verify Integrity of Game Files
If none of the methods listed above helped your problem, then it’s possible that some of your game files got corrupted. In that case, I highly recommend verifying the integrity of your system files:
- Start the Steam app.
- Select the “Library” tab.
- Right-click on Ark: Survival Ascended.
- Select the “Properties” from the list.
- Go to the “Local Files” tab.
- Select the “Verify Integrity of Game Files” option.
