The developers at Studio Wildcard have pumped out updates for ARK: Survival Evolved at an absurd rate over the past month, with well over 50 already under their belts. Along the way they’ve increased the level limit, added new Engrams, and many other things that change the game in large and small ways.
If you’ve played ARK for any considerable amount of time, you’ve probably developed a sneaking suspicion that you’re not going to be able to learn every Engram in the game. There simply aren’t enough Engram Points where the max level sits, and with the developers constantly adding new Engrams, I doubt it will ever be possible to legitimately cap out.
We’ve spent a lot of time with Engram Points on ARK: Survival Evolved. There’s so many useful Engrams that you can craft in the game that the list is truly dazzling to behold.
After hundreds of in-game hours, we confidently present to you the most essential Engram Points you will ever spend in ARK: Survival Evolved.
The Best Engram Points You Will Ever Spend
To cram all the information you need into as tight a space as possible, we’ve created a simple format to guide you:
- Engram [Recommendation – Solo/PvP/PvE/Non-Essential]
- Engrams Needed To Unlock (if applicable)
- Engram Points Required to Unlock
- Declaration of Practicality
- Solo – Assumes you are playing by yourself on a Local-Host server. These “singleplayer” servers shut down the moment that you log off, cutting off the persistent world that ARK touts so heavily. Not only that, but you’re not playing with anyone who can interfere with your experience, for better and for worse. You won’t need a base, but you will need armor and decent weapons if you ever hope to stay alive.
- PvP – If you’re on a server where other people can directly attack you, there are a lot of things that could go wrong, making base strategy and defense your number one priority. Oh, and explosives.
- PvE – There may not be other players to worry about, but there are definitely other dinosaurs. Since the ARK continues on no matter who’s offline, a base is important to own and defend.
- Non-Essential – Not required for your survival in any particular mode of play, yet may prove to be incredibly useful or desirable. Only the essentials are marked so you may have extra points to spend on the Engrams you actually want to own.
This list aims to contain the most accurate and updated information on Engrams, so don’t forget to check back periodically for more tips on how to spend those Engram Points!
So without any further adieu, let the Engram Point spending spree begin!
ARK: Solo, PVP and PVE Engram Master List

Current Max Level: 67
- Solo: 751 Engram Points Spent — 594 Engram Points Remaining
- PvP: 1295 Engram Points Spent — 50 Engram Points Remaining
- PvE: 980 Engram Points Spent — 365 Engram Points Remaining
ARK: Survival Evolved wasn’t made to play alone on any PvP or PvE server, so your best bet is to team up to take on the wilds together, with a group. You are barely able to get every PvP-recommended Engram on this list with only yourself!
So team up and split the burden, that way you can all specialize with the Engrams that you actually want to have!
