Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is and destined to be one of the biggest games of the year. And by biggest, we don’t just mean sales-wise. It’s yet another massive world from Ubisoft and the Assassin’ Creed team, featuring the series’ biggest map to date. With all of that ground to cover, you may want to know how to quick save from time to time so you don’t lose progress.
While major changes like the Settlement and new crafting options offer deep RPG experiences for players, some lesser-heralded quality of life improvements come along for the ride as well.
In this quick guide, we’ll walk you through how to quick save in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It’s not so complicated, but the game never really tells you how to do it or where to find it, and it’s a very useful option.
How to Quick Save in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Quick saving is simple, but just a bit hidden. Normally, Ubisoft loves to walk players through its many systems, but this helpful new tool is never highlighted in the game.
To quick save in Valhalla, hold Down on the D-Pad and press X/Square. Holding Down brings up a radial menu in which you can do things like start a raid, call your longship, put on your cloak to go incognito, and more, but it’s the option below this menu that you’ll want to use to quick save.
Saving your progress this way also saves you a bit of time, as otherwise saving the game requires navigating through a few pause menus. With this new feature, players can ensure Eivor’s adventures are safe without needing to disrupt the massive game for long.
