Atomic Heart features a lot of door locks that can be opened through a variety of lockpicking minigames, and the Hospital Door code in Blood Courier is the solution to one of them. While some are based on timing and others are based on matching, one of the most interesting locks involves making a pattern on a 21-button pad in the Pavlov Complex. Each of these requires a bit of exploring as the answer can be found in the environment.
Unfortunately, the solution isn’t always as obvious as a piece of paper laying on the ground. A lock in the Hospital Ward of Pavlov Complex is an especially difficult one. Thankfully, figuring it out isn’t too difficult and just requires some extra attention paid to the area. Here’s how to discover the Atomic Heart Hospital Door code answer.
Where is the Atomic Heart Hospital Lock?
This lock is encountered about three-quarters into the story, during the Blood Courier quest. After leaving the theater area, you’ll need to find the entrance to the Pavlov Complex and descend into the hospital ward.
This area is composed of three floors and plenty of enemies. It’s best to take them all out so you can solve the lock in peace. Once they’ve all been dealt with, head to the second floor and round the corner to find the locked room you need to get in.
What’s Inside the Locked Hospital Room?
If you use your scanner before opening, you’ll be able to see that there are five chests and a couple of computers to read some emails from. It’s the former that you’re really doing this hard work for, though, since it’s rare to see multiple chests in one area, much less five!
How to Find the Atomic Heart Pavlov Complex Door Code
Now that you know where the lock is, it’s time to go downstairs. There are some handprints underneath the lock, and keeping an eye out for those is a key part of finding the answer.
Walk through everything until you find the dimly lit room with the fire in the middle of it. The code is creatively (albeit awkwardly) displayed here. Approach the bed that’s next to the divider and a Sprouts nest/spawner.
Turn left to see handprints making what seems to be a half-circle formed by handprints and a small red circle on the divider. Behind this are some other parts to the puzzle:
- Handprints making an opposite half circle over the drawer and on the wall.
- A big red circle in the other room.
- A red circle on the underside of the wall.
- A red circle behind the giant scorch mark above the drawer.
On their own, they don’t mean much. If you reposition yourself a little bit next to the bed, though, you’ll find a perspective that implies a whole circle made from the handprints and four smaller circles within it.
The trickiest one to see is the red circle underneath the scorch mark. There doesn’t seem to be any way to clean it off or reveal it, but the right side of this circle is slightly visible if you go really close to the scorched area and look at the textures.
Some have found the solution by using the circular poster of a brain on the same wall; however, this seems like an accidental method since the poster is lying outside of the handprint circle.
Hospital Door Code Answer
Head back to the lock and push the buttons according to where the red circles were. Considering that the large circle was in the middle, two of them were close, and one was right next to the edge of the right side, the solution is as follows:
- The circle near the edge – Farthest button on the right, upper half
- The big circle in the other room – Button in the middle
- The circle on the underside – Button directly underneath the middle
- The circle behind the scorch mark – Button directly to the left of the middle
That’s the gist of how to find the Atomic Heart Hospital Door code answer in the Pavlov Complex. Whether you need a refresher on the controls list or just need some tips on the necessities, our Atomic Heart guides can help as you approach the endgame.
