How to Change Appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3

Changing your appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3 is easy since the Magic Mirror is essentially the most convenient tool you could ask for. Just walk up and interact with it. You no longer have to run around with that hairstyle you thought looked great in character creation but looks less than stellar in action. This is Patch #3 and beyond; the future of your Tav is now!

How to Find the Magic Mirror

You can find the Magic Mirror to change your appearance in camp. Regardless of where you are in the game or which camp you end up at when you hit the “Go to Camp” or “Long Rest” buttons, you can find a Magic Mirror to use. The best part is that you can change the way your Tav looks, but not far behind that boon is the fact that using the Magic Mirror is totally free.

While you can change your own character’s appearance, it’s not possible to change what your companions look like, nor is it possible to alter Hirelings. It makes sense that you can’t alter Astarion or Karlach, but it’s a shame you can’t change what Hirelings look like since their base appearances aren’t that great.

And with that, you now know how to change appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3. It took a little while for Larian to get Patch #3 out, but it was well worth the wait for its bug fixes and additions alike. Check out our library of BG3 guides here on GameSkinny for more tips and walkthroughs.
