Finding the entrance for the House of Hope is a bit tricky, but there are two primary ways that you can gather everything you need to open it. However, you’ll want to wait to enter until you’re prepared. It’s not an easy place to fight through. If you feel ready, here’s how to get to the House of Hope in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Get to the House of Hope in Baldur’s Gate 3
The House of Hope is Raphael’s home in Act 3, but entering it requires that you open a portal using five ingredients. You’ll first need to find the Devil’s Fee.
How to Find the Devil’s Fee
First, you need to reach Baldur’s Gate and head to a place called the Devil’s Fee. It looks like a residence with an opened gate that has stone gargoyles on either side. For reference, I’ve added an image of the map that shows its location to the west of the Basilisk Gate Waypoint.
Once inside, speak with Helski at the desk. While she sells all five items you need for the portal to the House of Hope, it costs thousands of gold to purchase from her. Instead, you can get the items for free if you head to the second floor and lockpick the gilded chests, as well as grab loot from other locations. Here’s a list of what you need to find.
- Infernal Marble from a chest.
- Diamond from a chest.
- Coin of Mammon from a chest.
- Incense from the fireplace’s mantle.
- Skull from a wooden crate.
How Activate the Portal to the House of Hope
Now, you need to go back to the main room of the second floor where the giant symbol drawn in blood on the floor is. This part is easier to do if you use Tactician View to look from above and rotate your screen so the arrow is on top. Then, place the items in their respective positions.
- Infernal Marble: Center
- Diamond: Bottom Right
- Coin of Mammon: Top Right
- Incense: Bottom Left
- Skull: Under the arrow on top
Once you complete this step, a portal opens up in the center of the symbol. All you have to do is interact with it and confirm that you want to take on this difficult portion of the game.
But that’s how to get to the House of Hope in Baldur’s Gate 3. You can open the portal early, then return at a later time if you don’t feel ready or want to continue exploring the city first. Otherwise, head to our BG3 guide hub for more topics like if you should spare Viconia or help He Who Was.
