Despite the patches and hotfixes, there are still minor bugs you might run into. One in particular involves the quest to get help from Auntie Ethel never fully completing even after you finish it. So, here’s how to remove the Teahouse quest marker in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Remove Teahouse Quest Marker in Baldur’s Gate 3
The Teahouse marker shows you where to find Auntie Ethel and get help from her regarding your party’s tadpole infestation, but it has a tendency to never leave your map.
When the Marker Should Disappear
Players are reporting an issue with the “Get Help from Auntie Ethel” quest under Find a Cure. Specifically that the quest marker won’t go away after completing the quest. The problem is that this leaves the quest appearing as incomplete. The marker can disappear as early as Ethel escaping to her lair, which was the case seen below in my latest run after I attacked her. I never killed her or rescued Mayrina, but the marker disappeared because I didn’t get help for the tadpole.
Reload and Redo the Quest
But for situations where this doesn’t happen, there are a few solutions you can try. Keep in mind that none of them are perfect. Your results might vary until Larian provides an official fix in an update. First, you can reload an older save and go through the quest again. This isn’t a fun answer, but it has the highest chance of working, and it can be repeated multiple times until the marker goes away.
Enter the Underdark
The other way that some players have seen success is by entering the Underdark through the well outside Ethel’s house. If you hop down, then head right, go through the Gnarled Door, and use the Mushroom Circle, then the quest marker might disappear. How or why this removes the marker is unclear, but it hasn’t worked for every player. Still, you might find it worth trying.
But that covers what we currently know for how to remove the Teahouse quest marker in Baldur’s Gate 3. We’ll keep an eye on the situation and update this piece as more information, and hopefully, a fix in a future update comes up. Until then, check our BG3 guides hub for topics like how to get the Blood of Lathander and if you should let Auntie Ethel take your eye.
