Once you get to Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll find there are quite a few choices that change how you complete quests and affect the allies helping you during the last section. The Murder Tribunal is a required visit to get the Amulet of Bhaal, but how you get the amulet is up to you. For this task, you may be wondering: Should you kill Valeria or Sarevok in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Should You Kill Valeria or Sarevok in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Either option has pros and cons, but the way you get the amulet from them is fairly different. It also changes what loot you get outside of the amulet. Let’s break it down.
Choice 1: What Happens if You Kill Valeria?
The easiest option in The Murder Tribunal means you kill Valeria. She’s chained up, so you won’t fight her. Instead, you simply cut her down while she says some dialogue that’s a mix of humorous and distressing. As a reward, you receive the title Unholy Assassin after bathing in Valeria’s blood. Sarevok considers you family and asks you to get rid of Orin. This feels especially fitting if you’re playing the Dark Urge or doing an evil run because you essentially join Bhaal’s elite killers.
Choice 2: What Happens if You Kill Sarevok?
Your second option here is killing Sarevok, a Bhaalspawn returning from BG1 and BG2. That means killing everybody else in the room with Sarevok, who’s Level 16. The fight is doable, but you skip it entirely by becoming an Unholy Assassin. Although, taking the fight rewards you with the Amulet of Bhaal, Sword of Chaos, Sarevok’s Horned Helmet, and the Abattoir Key.
So, should you kill Valeria or Sarevok in Baldur’s Gate 3? If you want to avoid a fight and be acknowledged by The Murder Tribunal, then you should off Valeria. If you want extra loot and to take the morally good route, then you should eliminate Sarevok. No matter what, Orin ends up as your next murder target.
