The Best Combat Deviants in Once Human: Ranked

Each Deviant will be ranked based on the following three criteria:

  • Their overall performance
  • Their unique abilities
  • How easy they are to please

Canine Skull: S-Tier

Pros:

  • Great all-around performance in any situation
  • Has an ability that allows it to pull aggro
  • Debuffs the enemy it’s attacking

Cons:

  • It’s hard to please and requires extra care
  • It isn’t the easier Deviant to acquire

It’s undeniable that Canine Skull is currently one of the best Deviations in Once Human, and that’s a fact! It has insane versatility and great damage output, and it looks menacing to boot. Its only real downside is that you unlock it pretty late into the game and only after you beat Rabizex.

Zeno-Purifier: A-Tier

Pros:

  • One of the fastest attack speeds among combat Deviants
  • Is easily acquired
  • Doesn’t require much to keep happy

Cons:

  • Relatively short range
  • Struggles with acquiring targets when in auto-attack mode

If you’re a player who likes using melee a lot, then Zeno-Purifier is the Deviant for you. He has amazing burst DMG potential, looks like a samurai, and doesn’t require a lot to be happy. The only issue with this guy is his attack animation, which tends to get stuck whenever he’s in auto-attack mode.

Mini Feaster: B-Tier

Pros:

  • Great crowd control capabilities
  • Decent performance at any range

Cons:

  • Longer attack intervals than a lot of the other combat Deviants
  • Requires more to keep happy
  • Not that good against bosses or elites

All in all, Mini Feaster is a fairly decent combat deviant. It has a really useful ability for slapping around crowds, and its range is not too shabby, either. Where it struggles is against elites and bosses. It just doesn’t have the burst capabilities that are required for taking out bosses, which is why it gets a B-tier.

Butterfly’s Emissary: C-Tier

Pros:

  • You acquire this deviant for free
  • Okay performance against any enemy type

Cons:

  • Doesn’t excel in any single category and is generally mediocre comparatively
  • Lacks a unique ability to distinguish it

The thing with Butterfly’s Emissary is that it’s only good in the starting zone of Dayton Wetlands. As soon as you move out of that zone or acquire the Zeno-Purifier, it effectively becomes redundant as its performance is quite mediocre compared to the other Deviants. At least it doesn’t take much to keep happy, which is a plus.

Voodoo Doll: D-Tier

Pros:

  • Has a unique ability that can be useful in certain situations
  • The quest to acquire it is pretty interesting

Cons:

  • For its ability to be useful, you have to get shot a lot, which is ill-advised
  • Relatively needy Deviant

Voodoo Doll is not a bad Deviant. It’s just not a good fit for a game like Once Human. The problem with it is that it requires you to take damage for its unique ability to come in handy. However, damage is super easy to avoid in this game, making its unique ability redundant. Thankfully, it’s not as bad as the following Deviant.

Festering Gel: F-Tier

Pros:

  • Can substantially increase your survivability

Cons:

  • Has no offensive capabilities whatsoever
  • Is useless in most of the situations you’ll find yourself in in this game

Defensive Deviants have a serious problem in that they’re completely useless in their current state. The only situation Festering Gel that comes in handy is if another player ambushes you unexpectedly. Don’t even bother bringing this Deviant out, as it’s rarely worth it.

That’s it for the best combat Deviants in Once Human. Make sure to keep an eye on our Once Human guides hub for the latest tips and tricks on the game.
