Best Feixiao Teams in Honkai Star Rail

We're listing all the possible best teams for Feixiao in preparation for her release in update 2.5 of Honkai Star Rail.

Feixiao, the first 5-star Hunt Wind DPS to come to Honkai: Star Rail, arrives with update 2.5 and brings with her an incredible variety of build synergy. Today, we’ll be looking at what could be Feixiao’s best teams for both premium and free-to-play players, and thankfully, there’s a surprisingly wide set of options.

Note: The information in this article was gleaned from a closed beta version of Feixiao. The data around her kit could change by the final release.

The Possibly Best Meta Teams for Feixiao

Feixiao is, at her core, a follow-up attack (FUA) character with some Weakness Break sprinkled on top. For every Skill she uses or two attacks her teammates do, she gains a stack of her Ultimate meter and unleashes one FUA per one full turn after another teammate attacks a target or attacks one at random if that target dies. Fully upgraded, her entire Ultimate (up to 12 attacks) also counts as an FUA with an extra 60% Crit Damage on all of her FUAs.

First Possible Meta Team for Feixiao

Feixiao’s likely meta team, then, is all about follow-up attacks and looks as follows:

  • DPS: Feixiao
  • Secondary DPS: Topaz
  • Support 1: Robin
  • Support 2: Aventurine

In an ideal situation, Feixiao has her Ultimate active once every two turns, or even one at high investment and with heavy speed tuning. That means the rest of her team needs to be using attacks and follow-up attacks as often as possible and can feed her as many Skill Points as she can use.

In this team, Topaz provides incredibly easy-to-access FUAs, Fire-weakness coverage, and a fairly Skill Point neutral playstyle. Aventurine is Honkai: Star Rail‘s current giga-sustain who can double as supplementary DPS with his own almost-free FUA spam. He also offers additional damage buffs with the right setup, can debuff enemies with his Ultimate, and I’ve seen him single-handedly carry an otherwise lost endgame fight.

Robin is the core of the team, however, as she not only provides absurd buffs to your team’s raw damage and Crit Damage (passively for the second one), but she also attacks when other characters do, and her Ultimate is instant action forward for the entire team. Oh, and did I mention she also has FUA buffs as long as her Ultimate Concerto state is active on top of all her other bonuses?

In short, this team is absolutely stacked and gives Feixiao all the benefits she could ever want. It is, however, a very premium and free-to-play unfriendly team, as every member is a limited 5-star. Here’s a more accessible but still very effective setup.

Second Possible Meta Team for Feixiao

  • DPS: Feixiao
  • Sub-DPS: March 7th (Hunt)
  • Support: Bronya
  • Sustain: Aventurine

Yes, I know, more Aventurine, but with March 7th (Hunt) being free from E0 to at least E3, and Bronya being on the standard banner, this team is still very powerful. You’ll need to be a bit careful with your Skill Points if you’re using two a turn between Feixiao and Bronya, but both the new March and Aventurine pairing can help offset that heavy usage.

Bronya doesn’t offer nearly as much overall value as Robin, especially considering her lack of FUA synergy until you reach E4 (and I empathize if you do), but having on-command 100% action forward as opposed is very much its own reward.

The one problem this team faces is dealing with any enemy that isn’t already weak to either Wind or Imaginary damage. Feixiao’s Ultimate doesn’t care about enemy Toughness, and March kind of doesn’t, you will need to plan when you use the team. Against the content in 2.5, of course, you’ll have no issues. It will be, I imagine, built around Feixiao’s strengths.

Possible Free-to-Play Friendly Feixiao Team

  • DPS: Feixiao
  • Sub-DPS: March 7th (Hunt)
  • Support: Asta
  • Sustain: Gallagher

I am assuming you’ve done some pulls for this team, but only for Gallagher (and Feixiao, obviously). Both Hunt March and Asta are completely free. And while Gallager at E0 isn’t nearly as powerful as he is at E6 (duh), he’s still a fantastic unit that’s more accessible than almost any 5-star in the game.

What’s more, the team functions basically the same as a more premium one. Asta fills Bronya’s role of speeding up the party, March does what March do, and Gallagher offers some additional Break Effect and effective healing. Feixiao does more damage to enemies when they’re Weakness Broken, and with two Fire units on the team, your options for opponents to effectively fight go up by a not-insignificant margin. You just won’t have all the fancy tools at your disposal you would with a full team of limited 5-stars.

Possible Characters You Can Substitute in Feixiao Teams

Screenshot by GameSkinny

Unless you plan to spend a fair chunk of real-world money on Honkai: Star Rail, I don’t expect you to have access to every character listed here. That’s what this section is for: to list characters you can substitute into different slots on a team that, while not optimal, is still viable. Of course, Feixiao in the DPS slot will be the only member of the four to not change.

  • Alternate Sub-DPS: Xueyi, Jade
  • Alternate Support: Sparkle, Ruan Mei, Pela
  • Alternate Sustain: Huohuo, Fu Xuan, Luocha, Lynx

If you make any major substitutions, you’ll need to adjust your playstyle accordingly. Sparkle or Ruan Mei for Bronya isn’t bad, nor is Fu Xuan for Aventurine, and Xueyi can work in place of March. The other options are also solid, provided you play to their strengths.

We’ll know a lot more about how Feixiao plays once she officially leaves beta and releases with the launch of update 2.5. In the meantime, the teams listed here are possibly some of her best options, but by no means the only ones or the ones the community will eventually settle on.
