The Drum Gun has always been one of my favorite weapons in Fortnite, and it makes an epic return with the special Rise of Midas event. If you want to wield one of these fast-firing weapons, keep reading for some of the best locations to get a Drum Gun.
Where to Get Midas’ Drum Gun or Drum Guns in Fortnite
During the Rise of Midas event, you can find a Drum Gun in any chest or as ground loot by chance around the map. These Drum Guns usually come in uncommon or rare rarities. However, some locations can guarantee a Drum Gun in every match if you’re having difficulty tracking them down. However, these locations will require Gold Bars, so come with your pockets filled!
Midas Vending Machine Locations
Some of the best places to look for a Drum Gun are in Midas’ Vending Machines. These special golden vending machines hold weapons and items right from his vault, meaning they are more likely to carry the Drum Guns.
There are several spots where you can find the vending machines every round. Most of them are in named locations or gas stations. Here are some spots to check:
- Snooty Steppes
- Reckless Railways
- Grand Glacier
- Restored Reels
- Pleasant Piazza
- Lavish Lair
- Classy Courts
- Any Gas Station
When you land at these spots, check your mini-map in the upper right corner of the screen. If a vending machine is nearby, a white icon should appear there, revealing its location. Approach the vending machine and interact with it (X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation, or E on PC) to purchase a gun for 200 Gold Bars.
Shade Midas NPC Location
Another way to get a Drum Gun (and not just any Drum Gun, but Midas’ Drum Gun) is by tracking down the Shade Midas NPC. Similarly to the Midas Vending Machines, the NPC will sell you a gun for Gold Bars, meaning this is a guaranteed way to get one every match.
The Shade Midas NPC is at the Marigold Yacht location on the island’s eastern side, just southwest of The Underworld. He wanders the upper deck area of the boat, so try to land toward the top to reach him quickly. Since the Midas’ Drum Gun is a Mythic weapon, he only carries one in stock, so speed is a priority when trying to beat other players to the punch. You’ll need to purchase it with Gold Bars, just like the vending machines.
The Drum Gun is a requirement for the Rise of Midas quests but a great weapon to utilize at any time. It has the power of an AR with the speed of an SMG, which is no doubt why it’s been one of my favorites for so many seasons.
