Best Mystic Spearhand Skills in Dragon’s Dogma 2 Ranked

Here are my rankings for the best Mystic Spearhand skills in Dragon's Dogma 2.

The Mystic Spearhand is one of those skill-based vocations that takes a while to learn and master properly. That said, once you get used to their moveset and learn a few defensive abilities, they can be quite powerful. Here are my best Mystic Spearhand skills in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

1. Skiedragoun’s Fangtooth

While the Mystic Spearhand is incredibly fun to play and can be quite a strong vocation, their main weakness is their defense. They don’t have a block like a Fighter, a quick dash ability like the Thief, or any defensive augments. That’s why the Skiedragoun’s Fangtooth is such a crucial tool in their moveset allowing them to instantly dodge attacks and retaliate.

It’s almost like a parry ability that gets you out of harm’s way instantly and allows you to deal back some impressive damage. I found this to be a must-have skill for Mystic Spearhands, especially in late-game boss fights where dodging attacks is the most optimal defense.

2. Mirour Vesture

In combination with Skiedragoun’s Fangtooth, Mirour Vesture cements our defensive abilities by allowing us to activate a shield before the fight and during one quickly. The shield essentially blocks all incoming attacks, has a decent duration with the Shelde upgrade, and even protects our pawns. I mostly activate it before going in with Dragoun’s Stabbe or Quik Fot, but you can do it effectively mid-fight as well. That said, I wouldn’t use it as a Fighter shield block as it has a windup animation, instead, if an attack is about to hit you use Skiedragoun’s Fangtooth to dodge.

3. Wild Furie

This is the Mystic Spearhand ultimate skill, which is one of our core skills for damage. You can learn it by defeating the drake at Dragonsbreath Tower southwest of Bakbatthal across the river and speaking to Sigurd to unlock it there or in Harve Village. While it can deal a lot of damage, it quickly drains stamina, so I would bring plenty of Harspud-based curatives.

4. Dragoun’s Stabbe

Mobility is the next issue for Mystic Spearhands since they have to be at the right place at the right time. Dragoun’s Stabbe, combined with Quik Fot, solves this issue. These two allow us to quickly move around the battlefield, jumping from foe to foe. While this is a crucial ability during exploration, it’s not essential in boss fights against flying monsters.

5. Swift Charge

You should always be holding down the Bolt button to charge our crowd-control projectile since it can be charged during other attacks. Firing Bolts and constantly immobilizing enemies is the core of the Mystic Spearhand. Swift Charge allows us to do that reliably with instantly-charged Forbeding Bolts at the cost of health. It’s an incredible skill, and you won’t notice the cost if you have a Mage as a pawn, along with Argent Tonic and the base healing skill.

6. Unto Skie

Once you upgrade it to Unto Heven, this is an incredibly easy and quick damage ability that takes out weaker enemies instantly and damages larger ones. The upgrade also consumes less stamina and doesn’t leave you vulnerable. This is a much better alternative to Humble Offringe.

7. Magike Sperepelote

This is another stamina-based damaging ability that contrasts Wild Furie. I prefer Wild Furie for its constant attack chain, but Magike Sperepelote does have ranged potential, especially with the upgrade. Either way, you’ll need Harspud-based curatives constantly to keep these active in boss fights, but they’re your greatest damage options.

8. Thef’s Hond

While this is Mystic Spearhand’s main way to regain stamina, I’ve had much more luck with Harspud-based curatives. You can easily get dried ingredients and a lot of consumables that instantly refill your stamina, and they’re not that hard to farm.

If you’re lacking consumables, then Thef’s Hond becomes more optimal since its upgrade Ravinour’s Hond can quickly refill stamina in boss fights. That said, at the end of the day, you’re leaving yourself vulnerable so be sure to have pawns defending you as you’re channeling this skill.

9. Humble Offringe

This is a highly entertaining skill to use in specific situations since you can throw enemies off cliffs or into harmful terrain. That said, the channel time and the low damage made me pick up better options like crucial mobility and defensive skills. Still, it can be fun to bring this during exploration from time to time, but it’s not optimal in boss fights.

10. Seching Blade

This was my least used Mystic Spearhand skill, but it comes with a huge disclaimer. I had trouble using it efficiently since you have to mash it during melee combat, as it can channel regardless of what you’re doing. I wasn’t able to use it to its full potential since I was already constantly holding down my Bolt button during attacks. If I had an extra set of fingers, this might’ve been a much higher skill on this list.

That concludes my rank list of the best Mystic Spearhand skills in Dragon’s Dogma 2. For more Dragon’s Dogma 2 guides, check out the best pawn vocations to hire and how to find the real Thief maister.
