Best Platypet Skills to Get Early in Temtem: Swarm

A platypus? But not Perry?

Temtem: Swarm has quite a lot of stuff you can explore and unlock, and when you look at the skill tree, you may be frightened due to the overwhelming number of options. This is not a big issue, however. Here are the best Platypet skills to prioritize early.

Which Skills Should You Take Early for Platypet in Temtem: Swarm

I admit, it was very troubling to see a lot of different skill trees sprouting out from the center of the screen, but luckily, I’ve got a lot of “bullet hell” roguelite game experience, so I understand what stuff is good for the grind long-term. Here are my top picks for the skills:

One thing that I learned was that you always need to maximize the resource gain as early as possible, because if you don’t you’re missing out on potential profits. Of course, some players would rather get some damage output early on, and that’s fine, but long-term, the resource hoarder will outpace you, and mind you, this is a marathon we’re talking about because there’s so much stuff to unlock.

The “Pansuns” (in-game currency) boost is located in the top-left corner, but you’ll need to increase your Luck a few times first before this option becomes unlocked.

After you get your finances in order, prioritize the following parts of the skill tree:

  • Projectiles at the bottom – additional projectiles do a lot of damage.
  • The cooldown of the Techniques is at the bottom-right. You need to fire as much as possible.
  • Speed right next to the Cooldown section. You will need speed to evade many bosses.
  • Armor is right next to the Speed section. Damage reduction is okay, but it is the least important here.
  • Damage on the right of the Platypet avatar. The raw damage increase is good after you max out cooldowns and projectiles.
  • Max HP on the top-right of the Platypet avatar. Try adding these once in a while, and it will help you extend your runs. Remember, the game is meant to be played a lot, with many lost runs, etc.

That’s all there is to know about the best Platypet skills to get early in Temtem: Swarm. We’ll have more on the game as it gets closer to launch.
