Elden Ring

Many players may not realize this, but Elden Ring, one of the best single-player action RPGs of the last decade, can be played offline. Of course, you’ll miss out on such things as messages from other players and the ability to see blood puddles on the ground. But those are minor details that shouldn’t affect your gameplay when there’s no internet connection. To play offline in Elden Ring, simply go to the “System” menu and change “Launch Setting” to “Play Offline” in the “Network” tab.

Baldur’s Gate 3

Larian Studios released Baldur’s Gate 3, one of the best top-down RPGs in a long time, and to the relief of so many players, the game does feature offline play. Obviously, you need an internet connection to receive the latest updates. But if you want to play the game without even launching Steam, then simply run one of the .exe files manually from the game folder, and you’re ready to play!

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI

Civilization VI is one of the most popular strategies in the world. But can it run offline? Yes, it can! All you need to do is launch the Steam app and press the “Go Offline” button in the “Steam” menu (top-left corner). If you’re trying to launch the game offline in a 2K Launcher, then press the “Airplane Mode” button, and the internet connection error should disappear and let you play offline.

Ghost of Tsushima

Since Ghost of Tsushima is a Sony game, many players may automatically assume that this game requires an internet connection. But in reality, that refers only to the Legends online component of the game. If you play in single-player mode, once the system asks you to connect to the PSN, simply decline it, and it’ll let you launch the game in offline mode.

The Sims 4

EA games are infamous for requiring a constant internet connection, but this rule doesn’t apply to The Sims 4 if you know what to do. Before launching the game either on Steam or in the EA launcher, simply press the “Go Offline” button. After that, you should launch the game and confirm that you do want to keep playing without being connected to the servers. That’s it!

Cyberpunk 2077

In a similar fashion to Larian Studios, CD Projekt Red allows players to launch Cyberpunk 2077 from an .exe file in offline mode. There are practically no downsides to playing the game offline unless you want your progress to be saved on the Steam cloud service. But you can always manually backup your save files from the game’s folder.

Assetto Corsa

Assetto Corsa is one of the longest-running and most popular racing simulators on Steam. Although there’s no actual offline campaign mode in the game, you can play it offline by pressing the “Go Offline” button on Steam. Once you log into the game with the offline mode enabled, it’ll continue loading without the internet connection.

Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley, one of the better farming simulators on Steam, has absolutely no requirements, regardless of offline play. You can even play with up to four friends via a LAN network if you wish to do so, all without an internet connection. In this case, the game splits the screen into an equal number of parts, so you can enjoy it any time you want.

Hades 2

There are many roguelite games on Steam, many of which don’t require any internet connection. But Hades 2 became huge once it got released, and many players started wondering whether it could still be played offline. Fortunately, it’s very possible on Steam or mobile. However, the Nintendo Switch version still requires a constant internet connection.

Dead Cells

If you want to enjoy more old-school pixel-based roguelike offline gameplay, then I’d definitely go with Dead Cells. But to make sure that you won’t have any trouble playing this game offline, be sure to turn off “Steam Cloud Synchronization” in the gameplay settings. It’s possible that the game won’t let you play offline unless this option is deactivated.
