Mods are great for adding content to a game, even if it’s unofficial content. With a farming sim, the potential for mods across all in-game aspects seems endless at times. If you want to spice up your love life on the farm, here are the best Stardew Valley romance mods.
Stardew Valley: The Best Romance Mods
These mods focus on romance changes that affect multiple characters instead of those focused on a single character. Because of that, I didn’t include any mods that add a single romance, like the popular Satoru Gojo mod, or those that replace a character with a new romance. But if you want sweeping changes or additions made to Stardew Valley romances, these mods can help.
Date Night Redux
Stardew Valley Patch 1.6 brought with it dates that you can go on after marriage, and Date Night Redux by Agent Lyoko adds to that ability. You get a set of generic dates that you can go on with your spouse. But if you married Alex, Haley, Emily, or Maru, you have the option to go on spouse-specific dates with them. Marriage in Stardew Valley is a lot less exciting than the dates leading up to it, so this mod helps make up for that.
Looking for Love Redux
Looking for Love Redux by mushroomhash adds more romances to your game in the form of older NPCs who are single but otherwise not available as romance options. Now, you can romance Lewis, Gus, Clint, Marnie, Pam, Sandy, Willy, and Linus. As somebody who wanted to romance Willy during my first playthrough, this is a great mod to add to your game.
Immersive Spouses
Once you marry a character, their schedules change rather drastically. As a result, it can seem like they lost their original personalities. Immersive Spouses by aveii works to address that problem by combining your spouse’s post-marriage and pre-marriage schedules. It isn’t perfect, but it helps the NPCs retain more of their personality even after being married.
Please Remember My Marriage
Please Remember My Marriage by nraittanna is a mod that does exactly as it seems. It adds dialogue to the residents of Pelican Town that triggers after you get married. Normally, your marriage seems to be entirely ignored by other NPCs except your spouse. It might not be a huge change, but it adds a lot of immersion for in-game romance.
True Love Valley
True Love Valley by linenpants expands on the romances that already exist in Stardew Valley by adding a ton of additional dialogue. In a lot of aspects, it feels like dialogue turns bland and repetitive after you play for long enough. But adding mods like this helps keep conversations feeling fresh and makes NPCs more interesting.
Those are the best Stardew Valley romance mods, but they’re far from the only ones available. The modding community has done a great job when it comes to providing new romance options for original characters or characters from other media.
