Best Thief Augments in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Here are the best Thief augments in Dragon's Dogma 2 from every vocation.

The best part about DD2’s character-building system is that you can rank up other vocations and use their augments for your main vocation. Thieves benefit from various other classes, so let’s list the best augments you should look for. Here are my best Thief augments in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Vigor & Subtlety from Thief

This is in your home Thief territory, and you’ll reach Vigor at Rank 8. It helps reduce stamina drain when climbing monsters to hit their weakspots. Verve is also on the Thief list but for now, it just adds a flat 30 Strength which isn’t the best. Vigor is much more impactful.

Additionally, I like Subtlety at Rank 2 to keep foes off my back as I focus on boss weak spots. This is because Subtlety makes foes target you less frequently and makes them focus more on your pawns. Feel free to replace it if it doesn’t suit your playstyle or if you have Mage, Archer, or Sorcerer pawns that you don’t want drawing aggro. Pick from some alternatives below.

Lethality & Avidity from Archer

These work wonders with the Thief playstyle of climbing foes to reach and damage weakspots. Lethality increases weakspot damage and Avidity makes climbing foes much faster. The former is unlocked at Rank 8 and the latter at Rank 9. Together with Gut and Run or the upgraded version, these Augments destroy most bosses.

Exaltation from Mage

Speeding up your stamina recovery is a crucial aspect of combat with any vocation. I like to combine this with the Ring of Quickening to ensure a steady supply of stamina along with curatives. You get it at Rank 9 Mage.

Dominance from Warrior

This is an incredible augment for daggers with a lot of knockdown power. You can get it at Warrior Rank 8. I use this augment with Heaven’s Key, which you can buy after beating the Dragon and reaching the true ending area.

When you have Dominance and a full Dwarven enhancement, I regularly open bosses up for finishing attacks, it’s brutal. This is because high knockdown power is the best late game stat in the game. Slightly more damage becomes obsolete when you can knockdown a boss and deliver a devastating finishing attack.

Zeal from Warfarer

Last but not least, Zeal is another augment adding to our stamina management. It reduces the cost of all of our weapon skills which can add up in a prolonged fight. You get it at Warfarer Rank 6.

That’s it for my best Thief augments in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Check out our Dragon’s Dogma 2 hub for more guides on how to unlock all vocations and maister skills, as well as the best Magick Archer augments.
