Traits and Blessings are the “Perks” you will be able to choose from time to time in Crab God when you level up your Crabs and when you complete Ritual Stone quests. These can completely change the course of your run, and I’m here to point out the best ones.
Best Traits for Crabs in Crab God
Similar to many video games of today’s era, there is a rarity chart. The orange traits are the best usually. Each of the three offered Traits will show you the benefits (and the downsides, if any), and you should carefully gauge what you need the most and what consequences you can take.
First things first, do not take the “Attention Seeker” trait. That gets the Crab killed. Try to pick some role-specific traits for each of the Crabs and have them specialize for one of the five roles. One of the prime examples is Unsmash, which gives a Crab +40% Build Speed.
Naturally, there are many other traits that increase proficiency in other roles, such as improved gardening, scavenging, more favor gain, and more attack damage, speed, and range. Try not to spread out the Crab specialization too much. Two roles should be sufficient for a Crab so that they can do their magic when it’s really necessary.
Best Blessings for Crab Colony in Crab God
When you finish a Ritual Stone quest, you’ll get hit up with an offer to choose one of the three new blessings for your colony. Here are the ones that you should definitely pay attention to, and I’ll explain why.
- Revelation of Healing: Worshippers can heal other Crablings: This will become important in the late game when the threats start hitting harder.
- Revelation of Upgrading: Gardeners can upgrade plants and corals to Level 2 (and Level 3 later): This will become VERY important in the late stages of the game, where you have limited space to grow plants and corals, and you need to upgrade your existing plants to gain an additional copy.
- Swissarmy Crabs: -50% Role Cost and Cross Pollination: -31% Role Cost: You want your Crabs to be as adaptable as possible in your run, so grabbing this is probably one of the biggest priorities. Cost-cutting saves lives.
- Wall Tactics: Builders can build Walls that block ground threats: It’s a great defense mechanism that will keep threats at bay for a long time. You can upgrade it 2-3 times to make it more sturdier (no need to go past that in most cases).
