As they say, money makes the world go round, and you’ll need plenty of it in Fire Emblem Engage. To keep your army outfitted with the best weapons and items, you’ll want to have plenty of gold on hand, and there are a handful of other uses for it as well, like donating to countries and making them stronger. Here are some of the best ways to farm gold in Fire Emblem Engage.
Fire Emblem Engage Gold Farming Tips
Always Gather Fallen Spirits
If you’re connected to the internet while playing Fire Emblem Engage, you’ll see the “souls of the fallen” appear on battlefields as swirling purple and yellow energies. While the purple spots can yield weapons, stepping on the yellow spots will always reward a bit of either gold or Bond Fragments. It’s usually a low amount, so it’s not the most effective way, but as you’re playing through battles anyway, you might as well collect anything extra.
Use Anna and Tiki Together
Anna is an optional character that can be recruited by playing the Mysterious Merchant Paralogue that pops up during Chapter 6. Either talk to her with Alear during the battle or recruit her afterward. What makes Anna really useful is her ability called Make a Killing, which gives a chance of getting 500 gold each time she kills an enemy unit. Obviously, you’ll want to train her up and increase her stats, as making her stronger means more chances for taking out enemies and, thus more gold.
However, there’s another trick you can employ to make her gold-earning abilities even better. Tiki is a DLC Emblem Ring you can get by purchasing the game’s Season Pass for $29.99, and once you’ve done that, you can play through her Divine Paralogue anytime after Chapter 6 and unlock her. Giving Anna Tiki’s Emblem Ring will help max out her luck, thus making it so you get 500 gold almost every time you kill an enemy.
Take on Skirmishes and Paralogues
The main story of Engage will reward you with a big sum of gold each time you make your way to a new country, but on top of that, playing through Skirmishes and Paralogues can also be a great way to earn a little extra.
Paralogues tend to have great rewards and oftentimes chests to loot, as they’re special battles. However, there’s also a chance to earn gold as a reward for Skirmishes, and you can play those endlessly.
At the same time, Skirmishes give you a chance to collect more Fallen Spirits and can also give you extra weapons and equipment. You can always sell any extra items you don’t want at the Somniel for some pocket change.
Donate to Countries to Up Your Chances of Gold Corrupted
Donating Gold to countries has a knock-down effect on improving the rewards you get from Skirmishes, so basically, you’ll need to invest money to make more. Simply having a higher country level will help, in general, but having a higher level can make it more likely for Gold Corrupted to spawn during Skirmishes.
When you head to a skirmish you can see all the rewards you’ll get for beating it, and occasionally a “Gold Corrupted!” notice will appear. This means that your gold reward will be increased by anywhere from 1,000-3,000, which is quite a hefty bonus. It’s worth checking all of your skirmishes currently on the world map and prioritizing any that have this notice. Also, keep in mind you’re better off fully improving one country and focusing on battles there, rather than giving each country one or two levels.
With these farming tips, you should have no problem wracking up all the gold you need. For more tips and walkthroughs, make sure to head over to our Fire Emblem Engage guides hub.
