Best Weapons Tier List in Granblue Fantasy: Relink

Let's take a look at the best weapons in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, including tips on how to get them.

Each of the 20 playable characters in GBF Relink has access to one of six types of weapons. Some of them can even be Awakened for better stats. Here, I list only the best weapons in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, including tips on how to get them.

There are six types of weapons in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. These weapons can be obtained or crafted, depending on the character and their level of progression. Even different weapons of the same type have exactly the same stats. The only difference is the cosmetic design, which you can fit accordingly to your custom character builds.

Terminus Weapons (Final Weapons)

Terminus Weapons are the strongest weapons in the game. These are endgame weapons, so I wouldn’t expect to get them early on. All Terminus Weapons have the Catastrophe trait, which imbues them with extreme damage. I use it with the Tyranny sigil, which allows me to boost my attack power even further, going way over the game’s damage cap. But I must warn you that it also consumes your HP in the process, so be careful when using it.

The only way to obtain Terminus Weapons is to complete the hardest mission, “The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage,” on Proud difficulty. But even then, the reward is a random Terminus Weapon, which may or may not fit your current team roster.

Ascension Weapons

Ascension Weapons are the best weapons you can get in the game before you have the chance to fight Bahamut. All Ascension Weapons have the highest default attack power among all other types of weapons except the final ones. On top of that, these weapons boost each of your characters’ base attack power. My favorite thing about Ascension Weapons is that they can be imbued with various elements, such as Fire, Earth, Light, Wind, Water, or Dark. These elements allow me to hit different enemies with various elemental weaknesses much harder than with a usual weapon.

You can craft Ascension weapons in the Forge using such materials as Champion Merit, various elemental shards and orbs, as well as various enemy parts, depending on the weapon of your choice.

Stinger Weapons

Stinger Weapons are a great alternative to Ascension Weapons, although not as versatile. Stinger Weapons primarily focus on critical hit rates but not much else. While Ascension Weapons can increase Link Attack windows or speed up SBA gauge gain. I also noticed that Stinger Weapons don’t provide much HP to your characters, making you much more vulnerable to incoming attacks. If you want one of your teammates to focus exclusively on dealing high critical damage, then go for it. Note that most Stinger Weapons use the same crafting recipe, which is applicable in the game’s Forge:

  • 1 Champion Merit
  • 1 Water Orb
  • 3 Bizarre Wings
  • 1 Bizarre Ice Spine

Executioner Weapons

Executioner Weapons are also fitting for any of your DPS teammates. I’d categorize these weapons between Ascension Weapons and Stinger Weapons. They have excellent attack stats, but instead of focusing on critical damage, these weapons mostly boost your weak point damage. For example, if I engage in combat with an enemy that’s weak to the Wind element, then my Blossom Axe can deal a ton more damage to that enemy than any other weapon. This limits my ability in other battles, which is why I’d equip Executioner Weapons on support characters. But just like Stinger Weapons, you can craft most Executioner Weapons using this recipe:

  • 1 Champion Merit
  • 1 Wind Orb
  • 3 Griffin Feather
  • 1 Griffin Talon

Stunner Weapons

Stunner Weapons are all about filling up the Stun damage gauge of the enemies. Although that’s a very useful trait to have, generally, the attack power of the Stunner Weapons is lower than that of all the other weapons that I already mentioned above. However, there’s one particular technique I need to mention here. Imagine that I carry Kotetsu, a powerful Stunner Weapon, and stun an enemy with it, which opens up an opportunity for Link Attacks to other DPS-heavy characters on my team. In this way, we can work together to achieve some quick victories. Note that most Stunner Weapons have the following crafting recipe:

  • 1 Champion Merit
  • 1 Earth Orb
  • 3 Chieftain’s Braids
  • 1 Greatshield Fragment

Defender Weapons

Defender Weapons are the default starting weapons for all characters in GBF Relink, and are thus the weakest ones. But they do provide players with lots of HP, which is essential at the start of the game. Although I personally wouldn’t use Defender Weapons in the latter parts of the game, some tank builds prefer these weapons to all other types in the game.

That’s it for my tier list of the best weapons in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Stay tuned for more GBF Relink tips and tricks articles, including where to find the save file location to backup save data.
