BitLife: How to Use the Stock Market

Profit off stocks or lose it all in BitLife by participating in the Stock Market!

Real or virtual, the stock market can be confusing. You’re one bad investment away from losing all the money you’ve invested. But if you want to take the chance in the safety of virtual space, here’s how to use the stock market in BitLife.

How to Invest in the Stock Market in BitLife

Before we even get started on how to use the stock market in BitLife, we need to do one thing first: get the Stock Market expansion for $4.99. Once you do, you’ll have access to making investments. It’s much riskier than appraising items (of course, it is!), but here’s what I’ve learned.

Stock Market Options and Stats

When you go into Assets -> Investments, you’ll find a range of choices, from hiring a financial advisor to invest on your behalf to your options for investing on your own. Before sinking money into the stock market, you can ask for opinions from people you know or read the paper for information about how to do so smartly. But like in real life, none of this guarantees that your capital will make you money.

What Stock Market Options Can I Invest In, and What do They Mean?

You have the option to invest in:

  • Bonds
  • Crypto
  • Funds
  • Penny Stocks
  • Stocks

Bonds and Stocks tell you the market’s health, giving you some indication of when to buy or sell shares. Then, Crypto and Funds tell you the trends and performance of each option. When you decide on what you want to purchase, you can adjust how many shares you want to buy. Before buying, you have the option to ask someone for their opinion on your choice, as well.

Investment Risks and Rewards

From here, what you buy depends on how risk-averse you want to be. When you choose an option in Stocks and Bonds, there’s a risk meter.

  • High risk can mean high rewards, but it comes with a high likelihood of losing your entire investment.

I tend to go for the options with the lower risk meter. As with everything in BitLife, there’s a lot of RNG at play here. You can end up choosing a low-risk option but still lose your money. Even using a Financial Advisor to do the work for you isn’t a guarantee that you’ll profit from the Stock Market. So, make sure you won’t miss the money you invest in case it goes wrong.

Getting Arrested: BitLife Insider Trading Explained

The final piece of information you need to know is that once you have the Stock Market expansion pack, you’ll start getting pop-ups with information from friends and family about different stocks. If you invest and sell based on this information, you might end up getting arrested for insider trading. However, being found guilty of insider trading gives you the “Martha” achievement. So it’s worth being bad at least once, in my opinion.

And that’s how to use the stock market in BitLife. It took me a few tries to profit from investing, but I haven’t found a way to guarantee profit yet given how the system works. It is, however, a ton of fun to play with investments in-game. From here, check out our BitLife guides hub for more topics like how to become a fashion designer or how to appraise items.
