Chapter one of Black Myth: Wukong is a lot more forgiving than the rest of the game, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get stuck. Chances are that the poisonous enemies of Snake Trail are going to be the first to seriously hinder your progress. But don’t worry, there’s an easy way to bypass most of them and still get to the next checkpoint. Here’s how to get past Snake People in Snake Trail in Black Myth: Wukong.
Getting Past Snake Trail in Black Myth Wukong
When you respawn in or teleport to the Snake Trail checkpoint, you’ll see a long stone stairway in front of you. I wouldn’t blame you for thinking this is the only way forward, and indeed, the plateau above should be your first stop. There are a decent amount of goods you can gather here, from plants and spirits and simple experience points. But it sure is a long way to the next checkpoint, with a lot of enemies patrolling the path. I’m sure you already know that running past enemies is a bad idea.
Here’s what you can do instead. Don’t take the stairs but enter the small, ruined temple to your left. You’ll find it pictured in the screenshot above. Once in, you’ll see that one of the walls has fallen down, revealing an opening to a canal. Right above it is the main path leading to the next checkpoint. You still have to deal with one snake person, but one enemy is better than six.
Where Is the Checkpoint After Snake Trail
Once you’ve defeated the enemy above, you’ll find that the road takes you to a bamboo forest. There are a lot of enemies in here, so don’t linger. Most of the enemies are weak skeletons, but be aware that alerting one of them might call in a much stronger poisonous snake. Keep going forward and you’ll soon see a statue with a brazier next to it. To its right is the exit.
From here, you’ll find the bell you have to ring to your left, and a wooden gate hiding a small set of stairs that lead to a new checkpoint, the Marsh of White Mist.
