Roblox Continues to Reach Wider Audiences

It’s understandable that Sony didn’t rush a port of Roblox since it’s difficult to curate all of the available content and ensure it’s safe for a younger playerbase. Part of the Microsoft vs. FTC trial revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan previously said:

Historically, because of the large number of children that play on the PlayStation, we have been very careful with regards to opening them up to anything that could potentially exploit them. Over the last couple of years, however, we have reviewed those policies and relaxed a little on this. We have been conservative for too long, and now we are currently engaging with people at Roblox. We hope that the situation will change.

In the end, PlayStation released an official Roblox port. Nintendo remains unclear about the future of bringing Roblox to its systems. But like PlayStation, a larger number of younger players use Nintendo consoles, especially with the family-friendly titles the developers create, such as Mario and Pokemon. However, the possibility remains that Nintendo players will get to experience Roblox in the future as well.
