CoD MW3: Best DG58 Build and Loadout

Here's our take on the best DG58 build in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, including the best attachments list.

The DG58 is a fantastic new LMG in CoD: Modern Warfare 3. It has few drawbacks, with all the upside associated with LMGs. However, it requires a certain level of mastery to be effective. Here, I’ll provide you with the best DG58 build and loadout, including the best attachments list.

Best DG58 Build in Modern Warfare 3

Light machine guns are infamous for having high recoil when shooting, especially for prolonged periods of time. But the DG58 has a unique Hip Recoil Control perk, which allows you to reduce the recoil significantly when firing from the hip.

Another important thing that I must stress is the gun’s quick reload time of only 3.2 seconds. That’s light-speed fast when it comes to LMG weapons. On top of that, you can effectively run and shoot with the DG58 without losing accuracy. That said, it’s not always easy to use and requires a lot of practice. But those are the main reasons why CoD MW3 veterans like this weapon so much.

Best Attachments for Effective and Deadly DG58 Loadouts

But is there room for improvement? Definitely! I’ve selected the best attachments for DG58 that make up the most optimal build for this weapon. Here’s how you can improve it:

  • Muzzle: HMRES Mod Suppressor.
  • Barrel: CDG T-25 Light Barrel.
  • Optics: MK.3 Reflector.
  • Underbarrel: Chewk Angled Grip.
  • Stock: Recoil Reduction Buttplate.
  • Ammunition: 5.56 NATO High Grain Rounds.
  • Laser: FSS Ole-V Laser.

Let me break down some of the most important choices here, which you can use to create your own builds to fit your specific playstyle the best.

The most important piece here is the HMRES Mod Suppressor muzzle, which serves as the range extender for some really powerful cross-map shooting. Through experience and my research on Reddit, this single attachment makes one-shot kills more effective, and it has certain stealth advantages, too, if you want to go a quieter route.

The other attachment that will be of high value is the MK.3 Reflector optics. You’ll definitely be using ADS for the DG58 more than other guns, so why not improve your accuracy when doing so? This specific optics attachment provides clear sight for better targeting capabilities. But I highly recommend it for tracking enemies, too.

Although the DG58 has a Hip Recoil Control feature, you won’t be using it every time you shoot. So be sure to reduce the recoil by using the Chewk Angled Grip underbarrel in all other cases. It will add a significant amount of stability to your loadout and improve accuracy. In addition, you’ll probably also need the Recoil Reduction Buttplate stock for a much finer handling of this bulky weapon.

Lastly, the choice of ammo is just as crucial, especially for this type of build, which focuses on highly effective long-range combat. The 5.56 NATO High Grain Rounds have a much faster bullet velocity than any other LMG ammo, which allows the rounds to travel a lot faster and further than usual. The high grain also makes the shots tighter and thus, more accurate.
