With the recent release of BioShock the Collection, many long-time fans are eager to dive back into this chilling series, but some players’ return to Rapture and Columbia haven’t been smooth sailing. As with many games lately, this remaster collection is buggy. Players on PC have been running into several irritating bugs, such as the game not saving their difficulty settings, and mouse issues to name a few.

But, have no fear! Many Reddit users have started to post and compile fixes for the peskier problems. Here is a list of a few to help you out:

Difficulty and Gameplay Settings Resetting

Several players have reported that their settings reset back to Medium difficulty, Adaptive Training ON, and Disable Vita-Chambers Off once they exit the game. This could potentially make it impossible to earn the Survivor Achievement on the Steam version of the game. Luckily, Reddit user Help_An_Irishman posted a fix for this bug.

>Find your Bioshock.ini (typically in C:Users[YOUR NAME]AppDataRoamingBioshockHDBioshock) and make a copy, then open it in a text editor.

>Under [ShockGame.ShockUserSettings], find and edit the following lines accordingly:

>GameDifficulty=GD_EXTREME

>AdaptiveTraining=False

>NoVitaChamber=True

>Save the file, then right click on it, click Properties, and tick the box that says Read-only. Apply.

/u/Help_An_Irishman also states that, “You have to start a game with your preferred settings, make sure things are the way you want them in the Options menus, then save, quit, and make the .ini Read-only.”

Mouse Sensitivity

Go to these folders and find these .inis

>C:SteamLibrarysteamappscommonBioShockRemasteredBuildFinal

>DefUser.ini

and

>C:Users “YOURUSERNAME” AppDataRoamingBioshockHDBioshock

>User.ini

Find

>”IF_MOUSE_LOOK_ENABLED Axis aMouseX Speed=2500.0″

>”IF_MOUSE_LOOK_ENABLED Axis aMouseY Speed=2500.0″

To change the sensitivity, the speed must be changed in both .ini files.

Mouse Acceleration and smoothing

>Bioshock.ini

Find

>ReduceMouseLag

>DoubleBufferMouseLag

set both to false.

Now, In the same folder. Open:

>user.ini

Find the section [Engine.PlayerInput] and add these, directly below it:

>MouseSmoothingMode=0

>MouseAccelThreshold=0

FOV

Go to the folder and open the .ini

>C:Users “YOURUSERNAME” AppDataRoamingBioshockHDBioshock

>User.ini

Find the section for the Fkeys (f11 or 12) and input: SetFOV xx

so for example: F11=SetFOV 100
