Core Keeper: Where to Find Tin Ore

You need tin ore to smelt into tin bars in Core Keeper. You'll have to do some exploring to get your hands on the material, but one biome has it.

There are many different types of ore in Core Keeper, but one you’re sure to need early on is Tin Ore. It can be hard to come by if you don’t know where to look, but once you know its location, you can mine it to your heart’s content.

You’ll need Tin Ore to move up from Copper equipment and get some useful new crafting stations. This material can be troublesome to find at the start of a new world, though. At least, if you’re not sure where to look.

This guide will tell you everything you need to know about Tin Ore, including, of course, where to find it.

Where to Find Tin Ore in Core Keeper

When you first start Core Keeper, you’re pretty much going to run into copper ore exclusively. The biome surrounding the core contains this substance, with further biomes holding different and better ores for you to make use of.

Tin Ore is found in the Clay Caves biome, which tends to be a bit away from your starting position and can be fairly infested.

The Clay Caves tend to have or be near sprawling ravines, which means you’ll need to either have bridge or dirt ground tiles to traverse. To dig up dirt ground tiles, use a shovel on the ground. It’s free, easy, and you are probably going to need it to get that Tin Ore you’re after.

If Core Keeper does not actively tell you that you’re entering the Clay Caves the first time, you can tell by the color of clay on your map. Clay is more of a peach color. Keep an eye on it if you’re unsure.

Tin Ore shouldn’t be too difficult to come by in the Clay Caves; just look for the sparkles as you do with Copper Ore back near your core. The Tin Ore itself is grey, making it easy enough to discern from Copper while out and about.

That’s it for how to find Tin Ore in Core Keeper. Now that you know its location, you can mine away for bigger and better things! Keep an eye on GameSkinny for more Core Keeper guides.
