The Guardian Games have returned to Destiny 2. Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks are all once again vying to prove they are Destiny‘s best Class. Along with a slew of new and returning items, quests, and bounties, this seasonal activity has introduced the Daily Focus Playlist.
The Daily Focus Playlist is critical for making the most of the season and is required if you want to acquire the Heir Apparent exotic heavy machinegun. And you do want it.
So what is the Destiny 2 Daily Focus Playlist and how do you optimize it for Guardian Games 2021? Here is what you need to know.
What is the Destiny 2 Daily Focus Playlist?
The Daily Focus Playlist is a rotating emphasis on a certain game type. Crucible, Gambit, and Strikes each take turns shining in the spotlight. Running quests from those playlists will reward players with additional laurels, which, in turn, are used to advance within the Guardian Games.
There are also quests that specifically require participation in the Daily Focus Playlist. The questline for Heir Apparent and its catalyst, for example, specifically require machine gun kills from the current Daily Focus.
How to Find the Daily Focus Playlist
Finding the Daily Focus Playlist in Destiny 2 is easy once you know where it is. Open the Director and look at the milestone tab at the top left. There you will see the current Daily Focus. Again, this changes daily, so make sure to check first thing when you log in.
You can also find this information in your quest screen. Move the cursor over to your medal case, and the Daily Focus will be listed at the bottom.
The playlist has a fixed, repeating 5-day rotation:
- Strike
- Crucible
- Strike
- Crucible
- Gambit
Every playlist is not necessarily equal. Some, like Crucible, can be tough for some of the Guardian Games’ kill-based questlines. Anytime you find the Daily Playlist to be incompatible with your current goals, simply wait another day.
There you have it. The Daily Focus is a core element of the Destiny 2 Guardian Games but easy to take advantage of. Now it’s up to you to go out there and win one for your class. Check out our other Destiny 2 guides, including our full farming guide for laurels.
