The central premise of the Round and Round We Go Seasonal Challenge is simple: generate Orbs of Power in the core ritual playlists. This includes Vanguard, Gambit, and Crucible. Seems easy enough, right? And we have seven months to do it, so that’s plenty of time. Right? Well, I can confirm that to complete Round and Round We Go, you need to generate a whopping 1,000 Orbs or Power.

For reference, during my testing, I ran the Lightblade Strike on a Solar Hunter, who threw lots and lots of knives. My weapons were all Solar, and I had all the mods I needed to create Orbs. I made a little over 30 total, and I wasn’t doing anything super fancy or tryhard. Just a casual run netted me 30 Orbs of Power — or 3% on the Round and Round We Go challenge.

By that math, I would need around 33 additional Strikes with 30 Orbs generated. And no, given that we have until June 4, 2024, for the Final Shape to release, I could easily reach that many. Hell, I could reach three times that many if I play regularly. I guess my point is if the challenge was meant to be done in three months, it might be a bit overzealous.

There are two main ways to generate Orbs of Power to complete Round and Round We Go.

Defeat enemies with your Super ability. One-shot Supers can create a maximum of seven Orbs, whereas roaming Supers generate one Orb per few enemies killed (or per enemy if they’re powerful enough). This value translates to Gambit PvE, though defeating a Guardian or group of Guardians in the Crucible will create additional Orbs equal to the threat other players pose.

Genera Orbs via Armor Mod Effects. Equipping specific Armor mods in Helmet, Arms, and Class Item armor grants the ability to generate Orbs when you complete specific actions. For instance, the Harmonic Siphon Helmet Mod causes multiple kills with a weapon that matches your current subclass’s Element to generate an Orb of Power.

The Heavy Handed Arms mod creates the same effect but for defeating enemies with powered melee attacks. As a Knife-throwing Solar Hunter, that works great, as you might imagine.

Best Activities to Farm Orbs of Power

As for which activity you should do, I think the only answer if you want to farm Orbs of Power is Vanguard Ops, as both Gambit and Crucible don’t offer enough enemies in the proper density to farm them efficiently. So, yeah, Strikes is the answer. Again. For the ten thousandth time.

That’s how to complete Round and Round We Go in Season of the Wish. For more on Destiny 2 and the game in general, see our guides on all the Rathil, Locus of Wailing Grief, and Hefnd’s Vengeance encounters in the Warlord’s Ruin Dungeon, plus more in our D2 guides hub.
