Duriel, other wise referred to as Uber Duriel or the Echo of Duriel, is one of the new endgame bosses in Diablo 4. He’s a difficult enemy, but can drop a variety of unique items perfect for high level gameplay.
How to Summon Duriel in Diablo 4
Added at the beginning of Season of Blood to provide more content and opportunities to farm unique items, you’re only able to defeat Duriel after summoning him. Set up to be the last of the bosses you face, he requires two items obtained from other encounters before he appears.
- Shard of Agony x2
- Mucus-Slicked Egg x2
How to Get Shards of Agony and Mucus-Slicked Eggs
The Shard of Agony is obtained by defeating Grigiore at the Hall of the Pentinent. Mucus-Slicked Egg drops when the Echo of Varshan is vanquished. Only the person who summons the boss will be awarded these items, so joining a co-op team won’t help you get closer to killing Duriel. Since you need two of each, you’ll need to defeat the other bosses at least twice to get what you require.
Where to Summon Duriel
When you have the requisite items, you want to go to the Gaping Crevasse dungeon found in Kehjistan. Inside, look for the Pestilent Altar to place the items on. This will call Uber Duriel forth and commence the battle. I recommend preparing before you head into the dungeon, but up your poison resistance to help you survive the onslaught that can occur.
Duriel drops a variety of unique items, including uber uniques such as Harlequin Crest and Doombringer. You’ll also have a chance to unlock the Smouldering Brimstone Mount, which is the only way to obtain this fiery ride. New loot you can obtain includes Tibault’s Will and Flickerstep.
