Diablo 4: How to Swap Weapons

You have a bow equipped, but want your swords. This guide will tell you how to swap weapons in the Diablo 4 beta.

The mechanic to swap weapons in Diablo 4 can be a little complicated. No matter which class you end up choosing, you’ll have two sets of weapons available. Generally, these are melee and ranged types. However, there’s no obvious way to switch between them when you first start. Here’s what you need to know about how to swap weapons in Diablo 4 so you don’t have to fiddle around in the menus.

How to Change Weapons in Diablo 4

If you want to swap weapons in Diablo 4, you’ll have to level up. The key to changing your weapons lies in the skills you gain while increasing your level, as each skill is bound to certain weapon types.

Rogues, for instance, have skills that make use of their knives and swords, while others are bound to bows and crossbows. Likewise, Barbarians have swords and axes they can make use of and switch between.

Swapping weapons simply means using a skill associated with a weapon you want. If you’ve got your knives out and want to use your bow, all you need to do is use a skill that requires a bow.

If you want to use a particular skill but can’t find it on your action bar, you’ll need to assign it first. You can do this on PC by mousing over the action bar and pressing “S.” Once you have the right skills in the right places, all you need to do is use them to pull out the weapons you want.

And that’s what you need to know if you’re wondering how to swap weapons in Diablo 4. If things change between the game’s beta and full release, we’ll be sure to update this guide with that information. For more tips and tricks, check out our guides hub.
